"If my people which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, pray, and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, I will forgive their sin, and heal their land."  (II Chron. 7:14)

There is Still Hope!!

December Newsletter

It is December 22, 2009 and I am sitting in my favorite chair. There is still snow on the ground leftover from the six inch snow we received about four days ago. It is rather chilly outside. There is a fire in the fireplace. A couple of my grandkids have been here most of the day. Another is on the way in a little while. A few friends are coming by tonight for a visit. Just a typical day at the Harrison house.
Christmas is a couple days away. The last few months have really been unusual. There have been some great victories and blessings. There have also been some battles and disappointments along the way. Just a typical year in the Harrison house.
Looking back over this year, I have to say God has been faithful. Even with the surgery this summer, and being out for a couple months, we still managed to stay fairly busy and see God's hand do great things. We traveled through about 20 different states, conducting youth meetings, campmeetings, revivals, conferences for missions, prayer and revival as well as just many services and special days in various churches.
2009 saw the entrance of some new faces to Voice of Hope. Bobby and Jo Ann Logue joined our team as Field Representatives. They are from Tennessee and are traveling presenting the work of Voice of Hope Ministry and trying to raise some much needed support.
I also put a young man on the road with me as my driver and helper. Nathan Crawley is from Alabama. He is a young preacher and he will be traveling with me for as least six month in 2010. If all goes well you will be seeing more of him in the months ahead.
Jason and Jay are still serving with us and they are such a blessing. My son is still a part of the music in our youth rallies. He is extremely busy with his new baby as well as operating his own business.
All my family is doing well. We have two new granddaughters in our family. My oldest daughter Stacey and her husband Ben have a new little girl to go along with another little girl born to my son and his wife Laura, totaling four grandchildren.
My health is doing much better and I thank you all for your prayers. I had a great six month check up and the doctor told me to keep doing whatever it is I  have been doing. God is helping us daily to gain strength.
I have many things that I am praying about. I really want to serve God and please Him and do more than ever before. Anything that reaches souls, I am for. Therefore, I am praying about several mission trips. I get emails daily from all around the world, literally, asking me to come and preach. I wish I could go to all the places that invite me. But if God allows, I would like to go to India, Pakistan, West Ghana, Africa, Kenya, and several other places including the Philipphines.
I am working on Alaska sometimes early in 2011. We have an invitation to do a youth rally in Anchorage, AK as well as visit the bush country and preach in several local churches. I am excited about that trip.
I am also considering doing some tent meetings again. I would love to  have a tent up this summer if God allows. This would be the first time in many years for a tent meeting but the time may be right.
For the last two years, I have helped Intercessors Ministries and worked as front man for the national and regional conferences. As of the end of 2009, I will no longer serve in that capacity. I will be a guest preacher on some of those platforms from time to time, but will no longer be serving in any capacity with that ministry. We wish the best for Intercessor Ministries and Dr. Beckum.
I do not know all that the future holds for Voice of Hope. My desires are the highest they have ever been. I don't think I have ever wanted to do more for the Lord than I do now. But I want God to help me to do what He would have me to do and help me to accomplish the most in the least amount of time. I am not getting any younger and whatever I do, I must do it quickly.
I intend by the Lord's help to keep turning out books covering different topics in the days ahead. I also want to produce a couple of new music CDs.  I am interested in going back into church planting in some form or fashion. I have talked with the leaders of two leading Bible Colleges whose desire is to plant churches in the U.S. I am praying that God will open up a door for me to in some way be involved in planting new churches in needed areas. I would love to help plant another 10-12 churches before my work is through.
I am praying for God to open up new areas in the U.S. for Voice of Hope. I have my sights set on the North East. I am praying about a three week trip to New England in 2010. I already have some contacts in place and I am waiting for God's wisdom, direction, and open door.
I want to thank you all for your faithful support and prayers in 2009. I ask you to continue to pray. We really need God's power in the days ahead. Pray that God will raise the rest of our needed support. Pray that God will open up new doors for us to preach. Pray for the new staff. Pray for my family. Most of all, pray for the Word of God to be preached in every place and do the work God intended. God give us souls in 2010!
Take care, be well and safe, and I hope 2010 is the best year for you, your family, and your ministry. Stay in touch. I hope to see you somewhere in some meetings next year. If I can ever be of help don't hesitate to contact me. God Bless you and Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year!

From all of us to all of you!
Your Servant,
Dr. David Harrison, Family and Staff of Voice of Hope
